Videographic Analysis - Moonlight (2016)

For my analysis, I chose to focus on color. The overall hue of each clip used follows the standard' ROY G BIV' sequence. The multiple blue clips were an ode to the screenplay that Moonlight (2016) was loosely based on, "In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue," by Tarell Alvin McCraney. I did this to emphasize the beautiful title of the screenplay, which was the film's origin.

Choosing the proper clips from the film was not the only aspect I had to incorporate when conveying my vision. I also incorporated a spoken audio clip from the film. Many of the clips that I included in my analysis are visually heavy, so I wanted to choose a spoken moment from the film that would contrast with the overall visual mood of the video.
